Ruth B. Set to Shine at the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival

November 25 | 12pm–7pm | Surrey City Hall | FREE

Come illuminate City Hall Plaza and light the City’s official Christmas tree at this Surrey favourite festival presented by Coast Capital Savings. Kick off the holiday season with a sleigh full of things to do including a concert featuring performers such as JUNO Award winning Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Ruth B.; Josh Bogert, Daysormay and Krystle Dos Santos. Ride the Ferris wheel, check out the Holiday Market and don’t miss the Z95.3 Holiday Fun Zone.

11th Annual Kids Conference

November 17 & 18 | 4:30pm–8:30pm | Newton Recreation Centre

Join the fun and learning at the 11th Annual Surrey Kids Conference, a FREE collaborative, creative and inclusive celebration for children including a special bonus day just for preteens ages 9–12. Children will learn everything from how to manage stress and make healthy lifestyle choices, to the fundamentals of breakdancing, volleyball and human rights.

2017 Honey Hooser Scholarship

Application Deadline: November 21 | 12pm

Students with an interest in arts and crafts graduating from a senior secondary school in Surrey are eligible to submit an application formfor the City of Surrey’s $500 Honey Hooser Scholarship. Broad interests may include everything from the study of the visual, graphic, or performing arts, to the development of tools to facilitate these arts.

Nature Art Jam

November 18 | 10am–2pm | Surrey Nature Centre

Express your creativity while exploring nature. Free event for youth ages 13-17. Join local artist Karen Cancino for a nature walk in Green Timbers Park. Then head back to the nature centre to weave natural materials into a collaborative sculpture. Learn more by visiting the Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad.
