The SASSY Awards (Service Above Self Surrey Youth) are a tribute to youth who show leadership in service to others, or who have overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. More than 10 years ago, Semiahmoo Rotary decided that these young people deserve to be recognized and celebrated, for what they are doing as it not only lifts of the lives of those they are working to support and mentor, but our entire community.
Each finalist will share their personal story of leadership, inspiration and overcoming challenges, demonstrating how humanity, courage and kindness shows up in our communities. One recipient from each category will receive a $1,000 award as well as the opportunity to donate $500 to any registered Canadian charity of their choosing.
Take the time to nominate a youth who emulates ‘Service Above Self’ for the 11th Annual SASSY Awards, presented by the City of Surrey and Kwantlen Polytechnic University and hosted by Semiahmoo Rotary and the City of Surrey.
